Firefox is aiming to set a Guinness World Record in the category of “Most Software Downloads in a 24-hour Period” on the day of their Firefox 3 release. I am currently using a beta version of Firefox 3 and it has some really cool features. With more than 14,000 improvements, Firefox 3 will be faster, safer and smarter than before. Click on the Fox picture to sign up for an email alert the day of it’s release so you can help them set a new record and get some awesome and free web browsing software in the process.
Update: Firefox met their goal and made it in the Guinness Book of World Records! Here is the certificate they sent me:

What’s the record at the moment Chris?

I don’t know man. Firefox has really disappointed me lately, seizing up and crashing as if it’s got an Internet Explorer complex. Firefox is definitely best for blogging, and beats IE to a bloody pulp at everything. But lately I’ve been using Opera 9 more and more… Maybe Firefox 3 will be better.
Good news. I like Firefox much more than IE.
Firefox 3 is awesome. I have the RC1 version and there’s been a lot of improvement over Firefox 2. It consumes less RAM, is much faster, and looks better…
I’m sure Firefox will break the record…
Firefox is definitely a good browser. But a lot of it is very non-intuitive. It’s actually driven me back to IE for the time being…although I hate that, too. I am really hoping for good things from the new version. And the download pledge sounds like a great idea. I just signed up!
I like Firefox now, and I hope I’ll like the new version. I signed up, and I hope they can handle all the traffic.
I’m in!
Heard a lot of hype… good marketing on their part for sure. Count me in though!
you think there really is 14000 improvements? thats insane
Is firefox really better than ie? I personally have never tried it.
Downloaded, installed and uninstalled it again, it took me some time to find the old version 2.something. Google toolbar dosent work with 3.0 and 5 of my 6 plugins isent supported by 3.0, I’ll wait a couples of month
Havent really noticed a difference yet with the new firefox, in terms of speed. It seems like the same old firefox to me…
I switched from IE to FF about a year ago and never switched back again. I also only use IE if im testing a new website layout to see if its compatible with the IE.
I believe FF is loading the sites faster than IE or maybe it’s just my feeling because I like FF more than IE

yep, i certainly did my part, and i love the new Firefox btw
Its a bit different. Firefox has really disappointed me lately, seizing up and crashing as if it’s got an Internet Explorer complex. Firefox is definitely best for blogging, and beats IE to a bloody pulp at everything.
Firefox is best browser!!!! IE - sucks!
I love Firefox much better! it is the best of all.
My favorite new browser!
If Firefox can get the glitches fixed and security tightened down, IE is going to be looking at a 2nd place position in the browser wars.
I am a big firefox fan, but I will always wait for new versions of anything to “settle in”. a world record attempt is good publicity, though.
Couldn’t upgrade cause firefox 3 doesn’t work with an important plugin im using. Im happy with firefox 2 anyways.
so what was the verdic did they make it ?
I love firefox, it is so much more stable that IE
Just installed firefox last week, my hubby said it beats IE hands down — had to try it for myself. So far so good, runs awesome.
I have Firefox 3 as well. Main thing I noticed is the speed, faster than before. Any updates? Did they break the record?
Yip, they broke the record and they are letting those that downloaded go and download a personalised Certificate. Cool hey.
I downloaded it today and am loving it. It will take a bit for me to get use to the look of the new toolbar.
i hav installed it already n it working super cool
I´m downloading it today. I hope it´s as good as everyone says.
