Yeah, that Beacon add-program is really invading your privacy. Better turn it off….

Awwww, I’m tellin’! :D Seriously though, that’s just wrong. They shouldn’t be doing that. At least you didn’t rent anything weird, like the “Hello Kitty” show or “According to Jim” or anything like that!

I have found it reveals a bit to much information about me. Like i do a quick quiz and then bang, its on my profile for all others to see, i agree it does get scary.

Mmmmm. Love me some facebook - but I am also selective about the applications I load.

I will sometimes load an app just to see what a friend has written or sent me, then immediately remove the app after seeing it if I’m not interested.

Odd that facebook would know what your blockbuster account name/pw is if you didn’t tell it…that seems very suspicious.

It does seem very suspicious … as long as you don’t order any adult movies … then it would slip into invasion of privacy

It’s very frustrating when some one slip into our privacy without our permission.

I know what you mean. I never really add any applications to facebook as I think they clutter up the whole thing, but today when i signed in there were adverts for 2 on my profile in my personal news feed as if I had added them. I don’t like receiving 50000 application invitations a day either. It really discourages me from using facebook regularly like I used to.

Facebook has been made to transparent to other users and worse still Google has been able to index users information. I use facebook but most of my personal details are false to keep myself safe from identity fraud.

facebook has blatant disregard for other’s privacy. even i m embarassed to tell my friends that facebook tell me whom they have given a flower or for that matter, a kiss. i guess finding the beacon option is also a bit difficult. guess they want extract the max juice out of us all.

It is so scary, and I’m sick of all the viral applications people keep inviting me to join. I wish there were security preference settings that would allow me to block all apps from even asking me to use them. It’s getting to be more of an annoyance each time I log in rather than a fun pastime. :(
I really like your blog, Tallfreakydude! Keep it up!

Yeah Facebook is really scary… almost thinking about leaving since they invade my privacy so much. Plus they don’t seem to care at all.

City News said in January 25th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

Yea I stopped using facebook, after they added the news thing. Those news headlines of everything you do on the site. “Jane Doe” added “John Doe” as a friend. “Jane Doe” changed her profile picture.

Wake up facebook! If I wanted everyone to know that I did something, I would just tell them. Facebook started out so innocent. They only allowed those that went to the same school to view your profile. Now they share your life history without your permission.

Facebook is crazy that way and I’m surprised they haven’t been slapped with some crazy lawsuit. yet….

I personally hate all the new apps… just WAY too many in WAY to short a time.

I have heard that some of the apps are more business oriented, we’ll have to see about that.

I’ve had it with facebook. Used to be in there several times a day. Now I go in once a week to see if anyone has foolishly emailed me there.

It was good until it became very annoying.

facebook knows where you are and what you do. all the time. IT FREAKS ME OUT. thats why I stopped using it, hehe. It’s also annoying how they broadcast everything you do, like posting on your friends walls and stuff.

I have to agree that Facebook has now become a bit overwhelming with the amount of applications now offered. Although I still believe that it offers a unique means by which to stay connected with people you otherwise might lose touch with, constantly being bombarded with invitations to join new applications is becoming more intrusive than I think most users want it to be.

LOL! I like your post, I actually love facebook but yeah they’re starting to get all nosy in my business and it’s not cool. You are one hot guy I must say, and I want to make a guess at how tall you are… estimated at 6 feet 4 inches. Am I right? :)
