Yup! Today it snowed in Birmingham, AL. Because it hardly ever snows here the whole city panicked last night and went to the store to stock up on bread and milk. When I woke up this morning to go to the bathroom I totally forgot to look outside and check if it had snowed. Then I received a text message from my friend Kevin who said he was going to go sleighing. So I ran to my window and sure enough there was a bunch of snow outside. (A bunch for Alabama anyways.) Here are some photos I took of it this morning:
Me in the snow.

My cat didn’t care for it.

My first snowman in Alabama!

That snow was aggravating. I teach at night and it hit right at midday. So ALL the school systems let out early - except for mine, which didn’t let out at all. No, our school’s president is from Maine, where this sort of thing is par for the course. Of course people in Maryland do NOT know how to drive in this mess, causing me to get to work in twice the time
I’m always surprised when people drive the same way they drive when it’s not snowing. I know it has to do with the experience with snow, but can’t they figure out in advance that tires are made of rubber and that means Slippery when in contact with snow or ice.

LIFE MUST HAVE BEEN HELL AFTER SNOW FALL LIKE THIS , EVERY THING LOOKS TO BLOCKED, NO WAY OUT.
It’s been a great year for snow alright. A lot of places that don’t normally get snow are ( such as yourself) and those that do get snow (like me) are getting heaps, and also great quality snow. yes there is different qualities when it comes to skiing the stuff

I like the snowman, it must’ve taken all the snow from your backyard to built that
its seems heavy snow fall there your life must be got slow…hope for best….
Once I was in England, hoping that I would see some snow, but that winter there was no snow. By the way I am from a tropical country, so snow is not an option for us.
I’m in the South of England and we don’t see good snow. Can’t remember when we last had the chance to get the sledge out or make a snowman - probably 30 years ago when I were just a lad.
It’s all about global warming.
Had a friend of my move from the Philippines to Ireland last year and saw her first snow fall ever - she is in her mid 30’s.
She was really excited at first, but it only took about 20 minutes to start cursing it and the cold, not to mention the endless rain.
In Norway, where I come from, we have a lot of snow. I’m a certified snowman builder
Great work!
I’ve never been a fan of snow. Its cold, wet and generally uncomfortable to be in! Sledging is cool tho!!lol
